Wednesday in Colorado

Amy and I broke off from the group for a day and enjoyed walking around Vail Village and Lionshead. We enjoyed the scenery and some of the best gelato in the world. Every flavor they made tasted like the real thing. We ended up getting tiramisu, pineapple, and chai tea. After enjoying the gelato we did some souvenir shopping and then had to duck under an awning when a brief hail storm blew through the area. After a day of shopping we headed back to the room and grilled out and played some uno and tripoley. Jim grilled a pork tenderloin roast that he slow cooked for what seemed like 2.5 hours. Later at night, half the group called it quits and went to bed, the rest of us went to the hotel's main building and went into the wii room and played some bowling and tennis until we got kicked out.

Tuesday in Colorado

Matt spent most the day recovering from his beer pong victory the night before while the others played racquetball and got a tan. Around 4:00 we all headed out to check out some garden area that was supposed to have free food, but there was none so we looked at the flowers, walked through vail village, enjoyed some dinner and then returned to the room and drank many many root beer floats :) (we all needed a day off from alcohol).

Monday in Colorado

Today the whole gang (except pregnant me) went white water rafting. They said it was a great time but the class 3 rapids were a little tame for them. They are all excited to raft again on a class 4. While everyone was gone, I spent the day by the pool finishing "New Moon". I have gotten hooked on the Twilight series!!

Tonight Jane, Jean and I are SUPER excited about The Bachelorette finale! We sent the boys out to a bar so we could watch our show in peace at the hotel. Who's she gonna pick?!? I'm rooting for Ed - the nice guy from Chicago.

Zetas!

It was great spending the day with Erin & Jesse. It's been just about a year since we've seen them. It was so good to see their house and some of their favorite sites in Golden, CO.

While we were on Lookout Mountain it was raining and a little cold. We used Jesse's windshield protector as our umbrellas.
The "Flannigan-Lakin pose" has become a tradition for us. It started at a sorority dance in 2002 and continues to this day. It's also a good way to show off our baby bumps. Erin is about 3 months ahead of me and due in late October.

Dinner on Sunday

Amy and I booked it back to Vail to meet up with the gang for dinner at a sushi restaurant. Good food, good friends, a good time, and yes we ate the whole plate.

Lookout Point

Amy and I spent most of the day hanging out in Golden Colorado. We enjoyed some good views from lookout point, which we went to with one of Amy's soriority sisters and her husband (Jesse and Erin) who live right outside of Denver. It aslo happens to be the burial site of Buffalo Bill. We also hung out with them at a really good mexican restaurant called "Tequilas" which has over 40 tequilas on their menu, and then we kicked it at the Coors Brewery for a bit before heading back to Vail for dinner.

John Denver was telling the truth. Driving through the mountains was rough. Our minivan shook when we tried to break while driving down the steep slopes. We arrived in Vail around 4:00 mountain time on satuday, grilled out and sipped on some Valsa Lager around a campfire before calling it quits around midnight.

Drivng to Colorado

Road tripping it to Vail was a blast. We played a two hour uno game, and took some hits off the keg that Valsa brought.
