Kyle is 4 Months!

Kyle is 4 Months Old

Lily wanted to help with the photo shoot.  This is my new favorite picture!  He's really starting to notice Lily now.  I love how sweet they are together.

So happy to be with big sister.  Look at that laugh!

-At the 4 month check Kyle was 26" long and 16 lbs.  Those were the same measurements as last month, so one of the months must be incorrect.  I know his growth is slowing down, but last month he could still wear 6 month clothes and now he's only in 9 months.  Either he's growing or I'm shrinking his clothes in the wash! :)

- He's in size 3 diapers now.  Eats every 2-3 hours during the day.  The feedings are not at consistent intervals (before he was every 2 hours on the nose).  Sometimes it drives me crazy, but other times it's nice that he's flexible if we are out shopping or taking Lily to/from school.

- On an average night, his last feeding is at 6pm, he wakes to eat at 3 am, and then is up at 6 am to start his day.  I love the 9 hour stretch, it's just a bummer that I can't get to bed until 9 or 10.  But I won't complain about 6 hours in a row of sleep for me.  Much better than it was!

- He is showing more and more personality every day.  Smiling, laughing, cooing, and drooling.  Lots of drool!  He goes through about 5 bibs a day!  (Lily never did that.  Must be a boy thing.)

- He caught his first cold last week. :(  I guess that happens when Sister starts going to school.  She was sick Monday - Tuesday, then she got better and he was sick Wednesday - Thursday.  Luckily is was a tiny bug (stuffy nose and sore throat) and Mommy never caught it.  But Daddy got it over the weekend.

Kyle's milestones for this past month:
- Went to 2 family Birthday parties (but no cake or ice cream at either...sorry buddy)
- Met his only cousin for the first time
- 1st time at church.  Perfectly quiet the whole time and loved looking at all the people.
- Took his 2nd trip to Indiana
- Went to his 1st wedding.  (It was Lily's first wedding too.)  The kids came to the ceremony with us because Grandma was working.  They were total angels and didn't make a peep.  Then Grandma took over babysitting so we could attend the reception.
- Went to the Feast of the Hunters' Moon (it's a Lafayette thing).  Great for people watching

"Kyle, let me show you"

Kyle was laying on the floor and Lily decided to join him.  She brought her ladybug light into his room so she could show him the stars on his walls and ceiling.
(Look how long he is!!!  His 4 month check is tomorrow, so we'll get a height update then.)

Mommy decided to pull out the jumperoo today.  Lily got in and showed Kyle how to use it.  She likes most of her toys better this second time around.

It's even fun without the legs.

Now Mommy got it put together!  Kyle can reach the toys, but not the ground.  So Lily will help make him bounce.

Eyes wide open.  Kyle likes his new toy!

Mommy is glad Kyle doesn't always have to lay on the floor any more.  But I'm also remembering the songs that played over and over and over when Lily used this.  Ugh, now they are back in my head!

Here come the brides!

Except for one that couldn't make the wedding, these are my friends from High School.  We all got together this weekend to celebrate Laura and Nick's wedding.
From Left to Right: Amy, Beth, Cassie, Laura, Megan, Kelsey, Katy, Mindy
I'm so glad our group has been able to stay friends over the years.  The wedding was at Purdue, so that made it extra fun.  We went to Harry's afterwards and felt a little old being around the current students.  But I did stay out until 1 am, so I was proud of that! :)

The other day I got my wedding dress out and let Lily try it on.  I think she was more excited about the tiara than the dress.  She is going to be a beautiful bride some day.... but it better not be any day in the near future!  She's already growing up too fast and needs to stay my baby for a while longer.

Happy Birthday Nana and Grandpa!

Nana's and Grandpa's Birthdays are within a couple days of each other.  So we celebrated both last weekend.  We (especially Lily) love any reason to have cake and ice cream.  This year, Lily helped me with the baking, so it tasted extra delicious!

Silly, Silly

It's silly times like these that make all the hard times worth while.  I'm glad they were in a picture mood this night because these crack me up.

Lily has several pairs of sunglasses and was nice enough to share with Kyle.  He was naked because it was bath time when this started.

This picture may embarrass him some day, but I think it's hilarious.  I think the caption should be, "Yo!  What Up?"
He is a true man with his hand on his crotch.  Grandpa said it looks like he should have a cigar in his hand.  In our house, we call this, "chillaxin."

Superstar Lily!

Kyle's First Football Games

Last weekend, Kyle got to watch his first Purdue and Bears football games.  Purdue lost but the Bears won.  His fan gear must have helped a little bit.

I love how he's holding his toy football in this picture.  It looks like he's ready to play!  If you can't read it, the shirt says. "Start 'Em Young, Raise 'Em Right".
Boiler Up!

Watching the Purdue game with Daddy

Kyle isn't ready to eat in his high chair yet, but sometimes he sits in it while we eat.  Grandma made him a bunch of fancy high chair covers so he always has a stylish seat.

Future Zetas

I found some more pictures from my mini Zeta reunion last week.  Maybe Lily and Ev will be future Zetas some day.  Lily is 2.5 and Ev is 1.5 and they played so nice together.

Opening up a coloring book and crayons to use while we ate.  It was a good idea, but only occupied them for about 15 minutes.  Oh well!

During the rest of lunch they played in the restaurant and looked out the window.  I don't know what Lily's saying in this picture, but it looks cute.

Had to stay inside because it was raining.  They would have been cute together at the park.

Mini Zeta Reunion

After Lily's first day of school, the kids and I drove to Northern Indiana to visit some of my sorority sisters.  Erin flew in from Colorado for the weekend, so it was a good excuse for us to get together.  We would have been outnumbered by kiddos, but Erin left her two in Colorado.

Lunch was a little hectic with the kids and babies.  But it was still great to see each other and catch up a little bit.  We were supposed to play at a park after lunch, but of course it started raining.  Luckily nobody else was in the restaurant, so it was ok that Lily and Ev were playing and being loud toddlers.

Kyle is 3 months and Addy is 3.5 months.  Both were born this May.  Maybe they will be future boyfriend/girlfriend some day!

Lily Started School!

This year Lily is in a preschool for 2 year olds.  It's one day a week for 2 hours.  It's the first activity she's ever done where I drop her off and she attends without me.  The thought of it tugs on my heart a little bit, but it also excites me to get 2 hours with only 1 child!!

Last week there was a "soft start".  The kids got to play in the classroom while the parents attended a quick meeting.  Here is Lily and Kyle before school in their coordinating Cubs outfits.

Here is Miss Lily at school before I tried to escape.  She loves to color and it would have been a very smooth exit, except right after I took this picture another girl started hysterically crying.  So that scared Lily and made it a little tough to leave.  But I did get out and Lily did great afterwards.

Here is Miss Lily on the real first day!
She wanted pretty pink finger nails to match her pretty pink bows!  (on a side note, she immediately took the bows out after I picked her up from school)
Here she is with her blue school bag that she takes every week.

Don't worry if you can't understand what Lily is saying in this video.  She is speaking her made up language.  She was in a silly mood and didn't want to cooperate with Mommy's nice video.

She had a great first day!  No tears when I left and excited to see me when I picked her up.  We are so proud of our big girl!

Play Time!

Lily has been on "Bow Strike" since she turned one.  So many pretty bows and I can rarely get her to wear any.  So that's why the other night was so funny.  She not only let me put 1 bow in her hair... she let me put ALL of them in her hair!  We played this game again the next night, except she put them all in my hair.  Darn, no pictures of that :)

This picture really shows her resemblance to the Cianciarulo side of the family.  But for some reason I think she looks like Uncle Mike more than she looks like Daddy.

Bow overload!

Recently, I've shown you pictures of Kyle and Lily in the Bumbo.  Well, now our cat, Salsa wanted a turn.  In the 2.5 years we've had this thing, I've never seen her do this!

A quick video of Salsa and Lily

Lily in her first nightgown.  She loves it because it has the Princesses on it.  But she ESPECIALLY loves it because it came with slippers!  There have been a few nights where she cried for me to come into her room in the middle of the night because she woke up and one of the slippers was off.  Heaven forbid! :)

Tummy time with Salsa and Kyle.  I'm so glad the cats don't hate my kids any more.  It's so much nicer to have them around the house instead of hiding under my bed.

Another Kyle smile

Labor Day Weekend

Uncle Jason, Aunt Millie, and Cousin Charlotte (aka CeeCee) came to town for Labor Day weekend!  It was great to have all the cousins together to play.  They live in California so we don't get to see them very often.  The last time was for Thanksgiving when CeeCee was 6 weeks old.  Now she's about to turn 1!

Lily, Daddy, and CeeCee.  CeeCee loved watching and playing with Lily.

Daddy, Kyle, Lily, and Nana

While she was here, we threw CeeCee an early 1st Birthday party!

Lily says, "Don't cry, CeeCee.  The cake is coming soon.  That is the best part!"

Meeting each other for the first time.  CeeCee and Kyle will be in the same grade in school.  And maybe someday they'll attend Purdue together! :)

Too much partying!  Kyle napping with his friend "Cubbie"

Cousin Love
They weren't in the best moods, but we had to snap a picture of all three cousins before the weekend was over.

Lily has also been very interested in the Wii Fit.  She can use the controller, navigate the menus, and play some of the games all by herself!
