Got this one on the first try! (that never happens)
As you can tell from the pictures, Lily is VERY mobile now! She's a speedy crawler, she can pull herself up to kneeling and standing, and she's started cruising. I bet she'll be walking in another month or so. Our photo shoots are getting tougher because she's constantly moving. A few other fun things about Lily...- When shopping she sits in the cart or stroller like a big girl (no longer restrained to the car seat)
- When out to eat she sits in the high chair (again, no longer stuck in the car seat)
- Lily is eating finger foods. She does very well with cheerios and I just recently let her try scrambled eggs. She has very busy hands while eating and either wants to help hold the spoon or put her hands in the food bowl. I'm fine with her holding the spoon, but she cries when I try to take it back to put more food on it. ugh!
- Lily is very vocal...especially when showing displeasure :) There is usually a large scream at the beginning of a diaper change or when I leave the room for too long. But it quickly ends when she's distracted with a toy.
- Lily LOVES my cell phone and the tv remote. We even found her a baby remote control but she definitely likes the real thing better.
- She still puts everything in her mouth - most recently it was the doormat by our patio (YUCK!) All of the cat toys are kept behind the gates so she doesn't eat those.
- The house is almost officially baby proofed. I think the crib can go one notch lower and there are probably a few more things I need to move to an upper level.
- Still no teeth yet. I wonder if they will all come at once (ouch!)
- Lily has started the #2 jars of food and is getting some of the jarred meat (Mmmm! j/k) I still try to make some homemade baby food but stuff like the meat I'm not going to try. We just went to the apple orchard last weekend and I turned some of those into apple sauce for Lily. I gave it a taste and wished I would have made some for me!
That's all I can think of right now. It sure has been an eventful month. It is a little sad that my baby is fading away and this toddler is emerging. But it's very cool to see how much she's learned and what she can do now!
Cutie pie Lily is changing fast! Had to comment to give you a hint about the spoon issue....give her one of her own to hold. It seems to entertain them and then she won't be grabbing for yours all the time! And, if she wants, you can let her dip it in the babyfood bowl for fun. Hopefully that helps your frustration.
