Videos

Here are a few recent videos of Lily.

I love in the beginning she's jabbering and playing by herself in her tent. If you get bored, the best part is the last 30 seconds when she's laughing.

Sorry you have to turn your neck for this one. I was trying to take a picture but my camera was in video mode and I just went with it. She is such a talker! On her first birthday we decided her first word was "hi" (and she waved when she said it... she waves at everything and everyone!). I think she can also say "dada", but she says it to me as well as Matt. On another milestone tangent, Lily took her first step yesterday!! Hopefully I'll get that on video soon.

Lily has been really funny at meal time. Today she tried to sneak a whole chunk of banana! The poor girl has 0 teeth. :( I've been thinking "any day now" for the last 6 months. She probably going to get them all at once! That doesn't sound like fun for either of us.

Party!!

Here are a few pictures from Lily's birthday party. We were fortunate to have many of our family and friends come to our house to help Lily celebrate.

After getting practice at Christmas, Lily was pretty good at opening presents.
Although, sometimes the box was just as interesting as the present.

Giddy up!

(it's a little hard to see, but her shirt said "Miss January")
Our lovely guests

Baby Ryan came to the party. Lily's other friend, Aaron, came too but we didn't get a picture. They were too busy chasing each other around the house.

Here are some of Lily's 1 year portraits. Look at her standing by herself in the picture on the right!

We go to the doctor tomorrow, so I'll do the full

Happy New Year!!

New Year's Eve wasn't as wild and crazy as it's been in years past, but we still had a blast. There is a restaurant by us called Sushi Station that is inexpensive, has great food, and is lots of fun because the food is served on conveyor belt! There's a long line of plates that circle around the restaurant and you just grab whatever you want to eat. Lily had a ball staring at all the commotion - which was perfect because I could actually enjoy my meal!

After our early dinner we headed home and did and early New Year's celebration with Lily before she went to bed.

I love her laugh :)
Our "baby new year" banged pots and pans as we counted down to 7pm. Matt and I stayed up until midnight, but didn't last much past it. Lily doesn't yet understand the concept of sleeping in on holidays.

Early Happy Birthday

Since Jason, Millie, and Mike will miss Lily's actual birthday, we held an early birthday party while they were still visiting. It was Lily's first time eating cake and my first time decorating Character cake.

"I get to eat this?"

"Mmmm! The frosting was my favorite part. Now I'll be a pro at my real party."

I was a bit nervous giving my little one her first dose of sugar at 6 pm, but fortunately she went to bed at 7 and slept like normal through the night. Phew!

Christmas Day

We woke up in our own house on Christmas morning and SANTA came! Lily had fun playing with her toys before we had to leave. We spent Christmas day with Matt's family at his parents' house.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve morning we left Indiana to return to our house in Illinois. That afternoon Matt's parents, brothers, and sister-in-law came to our house for pizza and presents.

Lily FINALLY got to meet her Uncle Mike
Being silly with Uncle Jason
Lily got to open all of her presents first and then waited pretty patiently while everyone else got to open theirs. But of course she got to play with her new toys while she waited.
Walking with her new dinosaur from Nana and Grandpa. Now she has REAL push toys and doesn't have to use her activity table.
She can also ride her dino - but she only knows how to go in reverse :)

All the men got Bears snowmen for Christmas. It's a good thing the Bears are in the playoffs so we can keep them up in our houses.

Hannigan Christmas

Uncle Matt helping Lily open her very first Christmas present.
After he took several photos, Lily told him which one she liked best.
While Grandma cooked, Papa kept Lily entertained by shaking uncooked bags of microwave popcorn. Rattles are for babies... big girls use popcorn!
Lily posing in front of the tree in her fancy Christmas dress and coat.
A cozy coupe from Grandma and Papa! (vroom! vroom!)
Notice the license plate... it's a "princess" cozy coupe :)
She also got a big teddy bear. In this pic it looks like she's laying on it like a bear-skin rug.

Now in comfy jammies, having fun with her new blocks
