(This is mainly for the Grandparents, but others can feel free to enjoy!)
Lily's preschool sang in church today. It was a nice happy moment after a time of sadness praying for the families in CT. I am so thankful for my babies and can't imagine what life is like for the people out there.
Lily's in the front row in a green jumper with a white turtle neck. I don't think she's singing, but at least she didn't cry or freak out. :) The older kids who did sing are cute too!
Lily is in a row with her favorite friends from school. Taylor is to her right and then Zoey and Livy are to her left. I love when she gets to school and sees her friends. They all scream and shout hi to each other.
The two songs are "Jesus Rocks" and "Happy Birthday, Jesus".

Kyle is 6 months old
(This post is late, but the pictures were taken on time.)
Happy Half Birthday Kyle!!
How did 6 months go by so fast?
Happy Half Birthday Kyle!!
How did 6 months go by so fast?
Once again, Lily had to hop in and take a picture with you :)
Last month was very big for Kyle. He had his first Halloween and first Thanksgiving. He also started solid foods. So far, this child will eat any food, any time, any temp. He is just hungry all the time! I'm finally figuring out how much to give him during the day, so he is back to sleeping better at night (about 8 hours for his long stretch). Before we started fruits and veggies, his long stretch at night was only 4 hours, and that wasn't fun for anyone.
At his Doctor's check up, he weighed 19.5 pounds and measured 27" long. He had to get 4 shots this time because of his vaccines and his first flu shot. But Lily helped make him happy and he only cried for a little bit. No issues afterwards. The Dr. said he's healthy and everything is proportional. He's just my big, little guy.
My big concern right now is how to keep him warm this winter. He's about 1 pound away from outgrowing his infant car seat. Soon he'll be in the kind that stays mounted in the car. Of course this corresponds to the time when it's getting cold outside. The only coats I could find were either for infants or for 1 year olds. So I bought a 12 month size coat, but it's so big on him. The first time I put him in it I will take a picture, because I'm sure he's going to look like Ralphie from the Christmas Story (Mom, I can't put my arms down!)
Luckily, once I start taking Kyle out of his car seat, he should be able to sit up in the shopping cart and in his stroller. He just learned to sit this month! He still wobbles a tiny bit, but for the most part he's got it figured out. Now he can play a little easier with Lily or at least get a better view of what's going on around him.
Kyle is still wearing 9 month clothes, but starting to transition into the 12 month size. Still wearing size 3 diapers.
Now that he's mastered sitting, we are working on rolling. There were a couple times at Thanksgiving where I left the room with him on his back and came back to find him on his tummy. So I guess he can roll, but I've never seen it. He hasn't figured out scooting or crawling yet, but that is FINE with me! I am not ready for him get into everything... especially with all the Christmas stuff up. If he could wait until after Christmas to learn to crawl, that'd be perfect.
Instead of crawling, Kyle just wants to bounce. He bounces in his jumperoo a lot, but he'll also just bounce on his own any time you're holding him upright. He's legs are in non-stop motion. He doesn't go anywhere, but just loves to move! It scares me for when he does start moving. I bet he'll be fast!
Gobble Gobble
Kyle's 1st Thanksgiving was lots of fun. We celebrated at Grandma and Papa's house in Indiana. We were able to spend several days there, so it was great having lots of time with family.
The whole Hannigan family!
On the right is Uncle Matt and his girlfriend, Sara. This was her first time joining us for a holiday. It was great having her and she was good company on Black Friday shopping :)
Kyle's face is really funny in this one. Not sure why he's so perplexed.

New videos
Kyle eating cereal. He likes to "help".
This is how we spend the majority of our day...
Kyle bounces and watches Lily while she screams made-up songs and dances around the room.
Lily playing with play dough for the first time. I understand the words she's saying but I don't quite understand what she's explaining.

Trick or Treat
I've got lots more pictures from Halloween, but this will have to do until I can catch up. Too bad it was so cold and windy on Kyle's first Halloween. He came out for this picture and then Matt took him back inside while Lily and I trick or treated. Oh well. He got to help hand out candy, so that was fun.
Lily trick or treated with her friends Payton and Marina. They are both 4 years old and live in our neighborhood. Lily loves playing with these older girls and they both like playing with Lily since they don't have any younger siblings. It's a win-win! Lily is a pro at trick or treating and her favorite treats were suckers and M&Ms.

5 months old!
Happy 5 Months, Kyle!
I know I'm late posting, but the picture was taken on time. There are new pictures below all of my ramblings.
A few new things to report this month, but also a lot of the same from before...
- Lots of smiling and drooling.
- Still size 3 diapers. According to my scale he's about 18 pounds now.
- No rolling yet. Just cranking his head around and "half rolling" to see what he wants to see.
Now the new stuff...
- Just started baby cereal!! He enjoys it and I can't shovel it in his mouth fast enough. He gets a little frustrated that he doesn't quite know how to use the spoon. Matt said it's like watching the Beast eat in "Beauty and the Beast" :)
- We're just doing cereal once a day this month. He'll start fruits and veggies next month.
- This month was Kyle's first time away from Mommy. And it was a long time... 48 hours. Which was also the longest time Daddy's been in charge with the two kids. I went to Florida for a friend's wedding. It was a little tough leaving, but I had a wonderful trip. Daddy and the kids survived unscathed. His parents helped him on the second day, so I didn't feel too bad for the guy.
- Since Daddy did lots of bottle feedings, Kyle learned how to hold his own bottle. I guess Lily got to help a little too. I need to get pics and videos off Matt's phone to post.
- We also learned how much Kyle eats... and man, it's a lot! I had guessed he'd want 6 ounces every 3 hours. That's what Matt did for the most part, but I guess it wasn't enough because he had to catch up with a MAJOR feeding. Matt gave Kyle a 6 oz bottle and Kyle was still crying. So Matt gave a little 2 oz bottle and Kyle was still crying. So then Matt made another 6 oz bottle and Kyle sucked down the whole thing! 14 oz in one feeding!!! You can see why we started cereal now :)
And now a few recent pics...

My Pumpkins Side By Side
Here are my two pumpkins in the same outfits on their first Halloweens. Lily on top and Kyle on bottom of each picture. Even though Lily was born in January and Kyle in May, they can fit in the same size in October! Their baby pictures have been similar all along. I'm just finally getting around to showing this comparison. I can't believe how similar they are!!

First Field Trip
Lily's school had a field trip on Friday to the pumpkin farm. Kyle and I had to go with her. I was very nervous about handling both kids on my own, and dealing with the cold weather, but we did well and it was a success! It was chilly, but fortunately it was sunny and no rain. So we just bundled up and did fine.
Kyle looked like this the whole time (except when he fell asleep). Just stared at me and thought, "Mom, where have you taken me?"
Lily was kind of in a daze too. We had to get up early to get there on time. I think it was all a little overwhelming.
The class took a hay ride but I couldn't bring Kyle on it. So Lily sat with her teacher and Kyle and I walked around to look at some animals. There was another baby and Mom with us. The two boys posed with the birds. They were thrilled... can't you tell?

Once the hay ride was over, we picked up Lily and saw the "Pumpkin-Eating Dinosaur". Lily is still talking about him, it must have been one of her favorite parts.
Then it was Lily's turn to see the animals. Here are some baby pigs.
And the BIG Mommy pig
We bought some carrots and Lily fed the animals. This is a kangaroo.

The kangaroos started boxing!
Lily fed the baby goats
Lily fed the giraffe. (That was my favorite part! Their tongue is so long and tickles you when they grab the carrot.)
All the kids on the field trip. The 2 year olds were also with a 4 & 5 year old class from the same school.
Lily and Mommy. Someone was anxious to go home!

Catching Up
I don't have a very concise theme for this post. Just wanted to post all the cute pictures I've taken over the last couple weeks.
Kyle is doing the "half roll". Not committed to rolling over yet, but will turn his head around to see what's going on.
Lily is eating her apple and Kyle is eating his ball. I think he wants to start on food, but I'm holding off until he's 5 months.
I got Lily to take a picture in this costume, but I'm not sure if she'll wear it for Halloween. My Mom made this yellow crayon for ME when I was 2. I wore it and many of my cousins wore it. I can't believe it's held up so well and now Lily gets to wear it!
Kyle was dressed to cheer on Purdue last weekend, but it didn't do much good against Michigan.
Uncle Mike came to visit last weekend and met Kyle for the first time.
Kyle watched the Bears game with Grandpa. Look at him... he's REALLY watching the game.
3 Generations of Cianciarulo Bears Fans
Lily was "cooking" in her kitchen to give us snacks for the game. She have a chicken leg to Kyle and he held it correctly and started eating it. What a guy.
Grandma came to visit on her day off
Kyle was in his Bumbo and Lily sat down next to him to give him hugs. So I quickly grabbed my camera. They are so cute together!
